Laguna Loire plays as an alternate character
throughout the game. During certain times of the game, Squall and his part
enter a so called 'dream world', where they relive the past events concerning
Laguna. Once a proud and powerful Galbadian soldier, Laguna eventually
left after being severely injured. He recuperated in a small town called
Winhill, where he was looked after by Raine and Ellone. To repay the townspeople
for their kindness, he then became a monster hunter and helped patrol Winhill
to keep it monster free.
Laguna seems to be a good humoured, generous
man who is generally liked by those around him. At times though he finds
it hard to express his feelings properly.
Laguna fights with a machine gun, and is
usually accompanied by Kiros and Ward, 2 Galbadian soldiers who go with
him during most missions.
