Well in FFVII we had Sephiroth, and now in
FFVIII, a new villian has entered the ranks in the form of the beautiful
witch Edea. She is believed to have inherited her powers from a family
of powerful witches, and her magical abilities are bother feared and respected
by all in the realms. As the successor of power from the late sorceress
Adel, Edea's power is now unrivalled by any other. Mind control is an ability
she seems to hold, along with an array of other magical talents. However,
she does not seem completely evil. Her earlier life as 'matron' depicted
her to be a caring, and compassionate woman. Perhaps she is under the control
of someone...only time (and a few racked up game hours) will tell what
her true intentions really are.
