In a world run by a mega corporation known
as Shinra, a small group must go forth and fight against them in order
to save the world. Shinra are a giant organization who are trying to harness
the energy of the world, but in doing so they are destroying its fragile,
natural resources. A rebel group called Avalanche is formed in order
to stop Shinra and save the planet. Led by their leader Barrett, they go
on a number of bombing raids on Shinra's mako reactors to try and slow
them down. To help them in their fight, the employ the services of an ex-SOLDIER
member named Cloud Strife.
SOLDIER is an elite battle unit of Shinra
that Cloud once belonged to. Now a mercenary, he joined avalanche for the
purpose of making money and nothing more. After the bombing of the reactor,
he prepares to leave. Tifa, one of is childhood friends, convinces him
to stay though. She has feelings for Cloud but never could admit them.
Throw into the confusion a beautiful young flower girl who holds a secret
that could save the world from its imminent destruction and you have a
bitter and twisted love triangle. Cloud is thrown into the middle of it
all, and while he tries to come to terms with his own inner feelings, he
must also decide what his true purpose in life really is.
Another occurence of events throw even more
confusion into the proceedings. Cloud must question his very existance
and who he even is while leading his small party of allies in the race
to save the planet. The reappearance of the Top class SOLDIER, Sephiroth,
also poses a threat to Cloud ( I'm trying not to give to much away and
it's hard! Fear not though. you'll learn more about the mysterious Sephiroth
soon enough).
The world is coming to an end and the only
way they can save it, may force them to sacrafice everything they held
dear...
